The Kate Dress 5

The Kate Dress, worn by @KateHudson on the set of Robert Altman's film #Dr.TAndTheWomen, was a silver tulle and net pick up ballgown with a #silk Peau de soie bodice and hand beaded trim at the neckline. It floated like a cloud.

The Kate Dress 4

Here again is another photo of my Kate Dress with @Katehudson on the set. @AltmanFilms invited me to Dallas to help with fittings, and to watch the process. He was extremely generous with his time by showing me details of how he directs each camera and how he never misses anything. I had to provide 3 copies of this dress, because the dress needed to endure a massive thunderstorm. It was obvious that despite the fame and hype of these A-listers, they were obvious pros, and this whole day long set up of the wedding scene along with the tornado style rain storm was done in ONE and ONLY TAKE!!! I had the opportunity to bring home the two other wedding dresses that were not used during the movie...

THE KATE DRESS 3

Another cool thing about The Kate Dress is that it is designed for a @AltmanFilms, and @KateHudson wore it, thus naming it after her. I have always loved Robert Altman's films, so it was an honor to be invited to participate creatively. Mr. Altman had been searching all the bridal magazines and he happened upon an editorial in @Brides of my Florence Dress by @_RachelLeonard (@_RachelLeonard_WhiteSposa_US). He called our factory and before I knew it, I was designing a dress for the movie #DrTAndTheWomen.

The Kate Dress

MY Kate dress was designed in 2002 and it was strongly selling in retail stores for the next 5 years. Later in 2008 I began spending time with @GailAsper who led the building of @HumanRights.ca. I was invited to a number of meetings and this photo was given to me. It was the official launch of the initial renderings of the #CanadianHumanRightsMuseum, by #architect @antoinepredock. Upon seeing it for the first time, I marveled at how closely it looked like my Kate Dress. I can't imagine Antoine Predock following my work, but I found it fascinating. If things would have worked out differently, my next creative pursuit would have been to create a classical music video with @RWBallet dancers in...

The Kate Dress

The preparation for this photoshoot took weeks. There was a bride who was an artist and who loved my work offered to make this backdrop in exchange for one of my dresses. I apologize, but I cannot remember her name. If she sees this photo, I would love it if she can DM me so I can acknowledge her. This artist flew up to #Montreal where the photo shoot was being held and collaborated with @Peter.morneau to create this massive and beautiful backdrop that included a large portion of turquoise floor. She spent about two weeks creating the backdrop and at the end it waws a surprise when I arrived in Montreal with the dresses the day of the photoshoot. Gorgeous hair and makeup by @isabelleethier.

ABIGALE GOWN

Beautiful things are expected when all are gathered at the @OhekaCastle with the @Martha_Weddings team.
Namely, @JohnDolanPhotog, @lynnbtler, @MakeUpWithAnAttitude, and @ShirleyGirl212 coming together, and surrounding #MarieeveNadeau in my Abigale Gown.

This strong #ALine #silk peau de soie gown is nuanced by a delicate silver thread embroidery at the neckline.

Never underestimate the beauty of a veil.
One of the most joyful part of my wedding dress design career has been designing veils. There is a complexity to it. There are many different types of tulles and different widths of combs, and every embellishment is chosen with the upmost consideration to the added weight on the whisper delicate tulle. People outside of the industry never realized how large my veil category was. Many people tried to copy my veils, but they always failed. Perhaps they lack the patience to hand drape and hand cut a simple little veil.
